Adam Hernandez, guitar teacher at Jamsville Guitar Studio

Not sure yet if your child will love guitar?Still thinking it over?

That’s exactly what the first lesson is for. It’s one 55-minute lesson for $75, and there’s no commitment to anything after it.

What you’re actually deciding

  • One lesson. 55 minutes, one-on-one with me.
  • $75, paid once. No monthly plan and no contract.
  • Then you decide. If it’s a good fit, we talk about a schedule that works for you. If not, that’s it.

If you continue after the first lesson

Weekly lessons $405/month About four lessons a month
Every other week $240/month About two lessons a month, with specific things to practice in between

We pick the one that fits after your first lesson. The first lesson doesn’t commit you to either.

Questions people ask me

What if my child doesn’t end up liking it?

Then you’ve spent $75 to find out, not a month of tuition. In the first lesson I find out what your child is excited about and teach them something they can play right away. My goal is for them to leave playing something they’re proud of.

I’ve tried lessons before and didn’t stick with it.

The lessons are built around the music you want to play, with a clear plan for what to practice each week, so you always know what you’re working on and why.

$405 a month is more than I planned to spend.

Lessons every other week are $240 a month. We meet every other week, and you leave each lesson with specific things to practice in between, so the weeks between lessons still count.

Is every other week really enough?

It’s two lessons a month instead of four. My job is to figure out exactly what to work on and show you how to practice it well between lessons, so you keep moving forward.

Why not Guitar Center or a cheaper school?

With me, you always know who your teacher is. I’m the one assessing the progress, planning each lesson, and adjusting the instruction as we go. At larger schools, instructors can change.

Why are your lessons more than other teachers charge?

Every lesson is recorded and goes into your own lesson library, so you can rewatch exactly what we worked on. You keep the recordings. And every lesson is one-on-one with me, planned around the music you want to play.

I’m not ready to commit to monthly lessons.

That’s why I start with one $75 lesson. You get a full 55 minutes without committing to recurring tuition. Afterward, if it’s a good fit, we pick the schedule that makes sense for you.

Is it worth $75?

You get a full 55 minutes one-on-one, a clear picture of where you are, and specific things to practice right away. If you go no further, you still leave with a plan.

What happens in the first lesson

  • We start with you. Where you are now, the music you love, and what you want to be able to play.
  • You leave with a plan. Clear next steps and things to practice right away.
  • Bring your guitar if you have one. If not, just let me know.
